When you buy a new phone or take out a new contract you can be faced with terminology and concepts that you may not be familiar with. The Following FAQ's should help you.

Q: What is WAP?
A: WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) allows mobiles to send and receive information from the internet - you can surf sections of the web just like you would with a pc.
Q: What is mobile email?
A: Mobile email lets friends and colleagues email your mobile from their computers and vice versa
Q: What is voicemail?
A: Voicemail is the answering machine for your mobile. It takes a message for you if you`re on a call, cannot take a call or have switched your mobile off.
Q: How do I set up Voicemail?
A: Voicemail is normally ready to use when we deliver your package. Should you experience any problems, call your network operator.
Q: What is a personal greeting?
A: This lets the caller know they have reached you. To record your personal greeting, call your voicemail, listen to the announcement and select the option for recording a personal greeting. Record your message.
Q: What is international roaming?
A: This is a term used to describe your mobile abroad. Your phone will roam from network to network to give you coverage.
Q: What are the costs of roaming?
A: The cost of your mobile overseas varies depending on your network and their international network affiliates. Please refer to your network provider for up-to-date call charges. Calls made while roaming do not come out of your monthly allowance.
Q: What do I do if I would like to take my phone abroads to make calls?
A: Contact your service provider and inform them that you would like to use your phone overseas, they will enable international roaming and provide information on the cost of calls and other relevant information. NB. A deposit may be required.
Q: What is SMS?
A: SMS (Short Messaging Service) means text messaging, and lets you send and receive short written messages through your phone to other mobile phones. Most of today`s phones have a text facility.
Q: What is MMS?
A: MMS stands for Multimedia Messaging Service. This enables you to send pictures and multimedia messages to your friends and family.
Q: What is GPRS?
A: Generic Packet Radio Services (GPRS) is a wireless communication service that enables continuous connection to the internet from your mobile.
Q: How do I transfer data from my old SIM card to my new one?
A:
1. Insert Your old SIM card into your new phone.
2. Go into the phone menu and open the phonebook/contacts menu and scroll to copy.
3. Select the copy form SIM card to phone option.
4. Select All. Select keep original and begin copying.
5. Once all of the numbers have been copied, remove the old SIM card and insert the new one.
6. Repeat the process above for the new SIM card but select the copy from phone to SIM option.
